I have returned to the studio after a week long vacation in Ireland with my family. It was more beautiful than I could have imagined. The landscape was lovely, so my favorite things were the drive around the Ring of Kerry and seeing the Cliffs of Moher. I am so grateful to have had this experience.

Last week I spent a day apartment hunting in philly with my sister-in-law. It was such a lovely day and I wasn’t ready for it to end when I returned to the studio. The weather and the light were so good, and I had some errands to run, so I continued shooting while walking through Haddonfield. I used my diana camera to capture things that I found to be interesting or beautiful throughout the day. It’s nice to have photos that bring me back to a simple and carefree day.

getting dolled up

Recently I was thinking about how much I love these “getting ready” shots. I didn’t share them when I posted Kelly & Jon’s wedding, but I’d like to show them now. They’re all taken in the the hotel room the morning of their wedding at the Chelsea Hotel in Atlantic City.

I really like shooting all of the preparation. It gives everyone a chance to get use to me shooting and eventually I fade into the background (which lends to great candid photos). Also, I like that years from now they can remember all of the things they were feeling leading up to their ceremony.

I loved hanging out with this group. They were a good time.

Kristen, Tim, Connor & Kaylee

I can’t even explain how much I adore this shoot. Mainly, because it’s of my best friend and cousin, Kristen, and her beautiful family… but also because the kids were so much fun to work with and the flowering trees made me excited for spring.

My husband and I drove to Charlotte, NC this past weekend for this visit. The drive was so worth it to spend time with all of them. We had lots of fun at their St. Patty’s Day party and I was so looking forward to this shoot the next day. I got to teach my godson how to load film! It was a beautiful day (we finished the shoot right before it rained). Kaylee was happy to tell her momma secrets instead of posing. We even used a blanket that our grandmother had made for them (it was a wonderful way to add a nod to her). Everything fell into place and I loved every minute of it.

flower show

The Philadelphia Flower Show was pretty incredible this year. The theme was Hawaii and it was wonderful to see everyone’s interpretations.

My momma and I started our day in the city with a stop at the Reading Terminal Market. I had the most amazing lavender/honey whoopie pie from Flying Monkey. Then we headed to the show and had a fun-filled day of flowers, vendors, and smoothies. I loved every minute of it.

will’s bar mitzvah

Will’s bar mitzvah was the first I’ve ever done and I loved it. It was such an exciting and high energy event held at the Academy of Natural Sciences (what an awesome venue)! There was a photo booth, an animal presentation, candy bar, lots of dancing and they were free to roam the museum. It was so fun to shoot because the kids were having such a great time.

Congrats to Will and his wonderful family! You’re all very sweet and it was a pleasure working with you. Thanks for letting me document the day.

This was such a wonderful shoot on a beautiful day!

These two were a dream to work with and I loved spending time with them. They loved playing with the props in-studio and had a great time roaming around outdoors. That’s my favorite kind of kiddo shoot, when I get to just document them playing.
